Bethel AME Church stands on hallowed ground. It was here that Bishop Richard Allen declared that the children of God would worship in dignity, in freedom, and on their own terms — and the African Methodist Episcopal Church was born.
Over 230 years later, that same spirit burns. We are a church that has marched with Dr. King, sheltered freedom fighters, educated generations, and refused to be silent. Come join the story.
